hops hunters HIKES & HOPPY HOUR
HOPS HUNTERS:
HIKE, FIND HOPS, harvest, DRINK, REPEAT ANNUALLY.
For the tenth summer in a row, Summit Land Conservancy is teaming up with the brewery now known as Top of Main Brew Pub, to hunt for local hops in the Park City area! Come join the Hops Hunters as we hike along hillsides protected by the Conservancy. We will be seeking wild-growing hop bines— descendants of plants tended by German miners, discussing local history, and identifying native and invasive species along the way. We may just end up at Top of Main to sip a post hike brew too!
Hikes will begin at 6pm and will last around an hour and a half. Participants should wear hiking shoes and sunscreen, and bring plenty of water. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash and friendly!
By early fall, we hope to harvest the hops with your help! (Harvest dates will be posted when we get closer to that time.) Once the hops are harvested, a limited edition open space beverage will be brewed and sold through Top of Main Brew Pub. Make sure to join us at Hoppy Hour in October as as we tap the kegs of this truly local brew that helps save the open spaces of the Wasatch Back!
