Old Town Hoedown! | Sunday, October 15

From 1928 – 1981, the Library Field served at varying times as the Park City High School football field and practice field for the “PC Muckers” rugby team. In 1981, the high school was abandoned and stood boarded up for 12 years. During those years, a deal was negotiated for the property (building and field) to be converted into a hotel and/or an artists compound, (depending on who you ask). Due to some financing issues and a concerned group of citizens, the property was saved from development. The old high school building was turned into the Park City Library, and the Library Field became a place for locals to meet, converse and exercise their dogs. In 2015, the Library Field was again the subject of potential building plans. And AGAIN, a concerned group of citizens spoke up and saved the field from future development.

On Sunday, October 16 join Summit Land Conservancy and your Old Town neighbors as we celebrate the Library Field and all it’s grassy glory! Wear your cowboy boots and come prepared for a good ol’ country dance with friends and family. No experience is necessary to partake in this fun, one-of-a-kind community event.

Do-si-do, save land!

LIVE PC GIVE PC | Friday, November 10

Live PC Give PC is the 24-hour day of giving, where Parkites show their love for the nonprofits that make Park City special. Don’t forget to support your favorite local land trust this Live Give season! This year, we will be featuring some of Park City’s littlest land conservators in our campaign, because the world will soon be in their hands. You might be surprised by what these youngsters have to say! It’s our responsibility to teach children an appreciation for the natural world and protect these wild places before they’re gone forever. All it takes is $10 to save land for future generations on November 10! See ya’ll at High West Distillery at the big Live Give fiesta!
